This course is designed to enable the students to
- recognize the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and management of patients with common surgical conditions
- provide comprehensive nursing care based on nursing process during the pre operative, intra operative, and post operative period.

Medical Nursing including Pathology
The purpose of this course is to enable students to
- identify the etiology, pathophysiology, symptomatology, diagnostic measures and management (medical, nursing and dietetic) of common medical, communicable and dermatological diseases
- to develop proficiency in caring for patients with these diseases.
- acquire knowledge of pathology of various disease conditions and apply this knowledge in the practice of nursing.

Community Health Nursing
This course is designed for students to
- appreciate the principles of promotion and maintenance of health of the individuals, families and community.

Pharmacology
This course is designed to:
- enable students to acquire understanding of pharmacodynamics ,pharmacokinetics, principles of therapeutics and nursing implications.
